John P. Morgan
John Pierpont Morgan I (John Pierpont Morgan I) – U.S. financier and organizer of industry, one of the most prominent financial figures of the two decades before the First World War. During the depression which followed the panic of 1893, Morgan formed a syndicate, which replenished the depleted gold reserve of the U.S. government by making 62 billion dollars in gold in order to overcome the crisis the Ministry of Finance. Three years later, he began funding a series of large industrial unions, which have been reconfigured in the corporate structure of the American manufacturing sector. Its first joint venture in 1891 was associated with the union, General Electric Edison Company and Thomson-Houston Electric to form General Electric, which became the dominant company for the production of electrical equipment in the United States. Morgan was one of the biggest collectors of books and works of art of his time, and he donated many works of art of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. He donated funds for the museums, cathedrals, churches and hospitals. His collection of books and a building in New York, where it was stored ( “Pierpont Morgan Library”), began in 1924, a public library.
