Technical Perspective:
The Dow has rallied five out of the last six sessions (+5.6% low to high) and has established new 52-week closing/intraday highs. The Nasdaq 100 has also rallied five out of the last six days and set a new 52-week closing high. The S&P has lagged in terms of setting new yearly highs, but it did end higher for the sixth session in a row (+6.2% intraday low to high). Volume was below average on yesterday’s strong move and generally modest on the run off last week’s low, but momentum/price patterns remain firmly bullish. The key for the very short term will be if the S&P can break and build value above its 52-week closing (1197.91) and intraday (1101.36) highs.
